MORE ABOUT THE ZERO FIVE ANTENNAS
The ZeroFive Antenna is a Multi-Band Vertical. This is a vertical element with no traps, or coils, it is a non-loaded radiator made with 6063 T832 commercial drawn aluminum tubing. It has a big 3" bottom section that tapers at the top for flexibility and strength. It has a 3" heavy duty oil filled cast nylon base insulator. This Antenna is made for multi-band operation. This is a very heavy duty vertical that can be guyed or free standing (mine is guyed). It can be ground mounted or mounted on top of your tower.
The ground radial system for the S.W. Vertical is made up of 96 radials. I have 5,000 feet of wire all around the backyard. The reports so far have been very favorable. The performance of this vertical has far exceeded my expectations.
I have a total of 96 radials. 60 radials are 50 feet, 12 radials are 83.33 feet, 8 radials are 41 feet 8 inches, 2 are 33 feet 8 inches, 12 radials are 33 feet, and 2 radials are 101.66 feet.
The 2nd Vertical has 35 ground radials due to space limitations. 20 are 50 feet and 15 are cut at 33 feet. More radials might be placed for the winter.
